Adding Ben Stiller and Sean Penn, & a few more.

I was talkin’ to Ned the other day. He asked if I knew he and Barb went to Iceland. I didn’t.

But, it made me think of the movie, “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty”. Was a good book. And of course, being a zealous movie buff, I liked the movie as much or more.

Beautiful scenery – Iceland. Good music. And a really good storyline.

Starred Ben Stiller. Of “Dodge Ball” fame – “if ya can dodge a wrench, ya can dodge a ball”. He’s done other notable works, “Night at the Museum”, and “Tropic Thunder”.

“Tropic Thunder has a pretty funny quote:

            Kirk Lazarus: “Me? I know who I am. I’m a dude playing a dude disguised as another dude.”

            Kevin Sandusky: “What?”

            Kirk Lazarus: “You a dude that don’t know what dude he is!”

            Tugg Speedman: “Or are you a dude who has no idea what dude he is and claims to know what dude he is…”

Sorry, but, I can’t leave it at that, ‘Dude’.

Gotta add Jeff Bridges – “The Big Lebowski”,

            “I’m the Dude, so that’s what you call me. That or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino, if you’re not into the whole brevity thing.”

Back to what started this – adding Ben Stiller to the “Invite List” for the 1st Annual Winter Solstice Stanley Lake Barbecue, Brandy & Beer Festival.

Like I said, the movie was good, and in it was Sean Penn. Now he’s cool.

He directed “Into the Wild”. Starred in “Mystic River”. “U-Turn”. But, before I go, I gotta add one of his first, “Fast Times at Ridgemont High”. A cult classic.

I just noticed he’s done a few movies w/ ‘Jack’.

Oh. This is getting good.

Can you just imagine, Jack Nicholson, Sean Penn, Ben Stiller, Tom Hanks, my ‘Wilson’, (and me) barbecuing ribs on a frozen, snow-covered lake, sippin’ brandy, chasin’ it w/ a beer. Around a roaring bonfire. (Yes, we’ll have to put something down under the fire. Or we’ll all be takin’ a swim. I know. I get it. )

All in the presence of His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama.

(I doubt His Holiness drinks. And of course that’s okay. Who am I to “EVEN” say or wonder about whether or not His Holiness decides to have a drink or not. I ain’t nobody. BUT.!!! Try and imagine, in a very discreet, secure environment, with a few ultra-cool, enlightened friends, His Holiness has a brandy, or two. And lightens up, just a skosh. WHOA.!!! I think all the planets would have to be aligned.)

And, if the “gods” are kind, the great Northern Lights will be putting on a show.

I think I just died and went to Heaven.

P.S.  I am putting my order in to the Sun, and the “gods”,

            I WANT A LIGHT SHOW on the solstice.

                        Clear skies, and Northern Lights.
