Preceded by “his men”, The General arrived today. No fanfair. As is The Generals customary way.
Led by “El Segundo”, (alias, Major Henry Horowitz), the ‘unknown Black Knights’ non-chalantly strolled into the lodge.
Finally, the General followed. Sometimes he likes to bring up the rear. Make sure all his men are accounted for. Other times, he leads his men.
Alongside him, his ever-faithful Mohawk scout, Tonto.
According to Wilson, no one’s ever seen one w/o the other.
Wilson just beamed with delight and pride. But, of course, he restrained himself. Mostly.
The General too, grew the tiniest little smile. Tonto nodded.
“I have got some tales for you, my friend“, the General said to Wilson.
“I’m bustin’ at the seams to hear!” Wilson replied.
“But, … where’s my ‘good-fer-nothin’ ‘ Rossi brothers? They dun got themselves lost?”
“I wouldn’t think so. They’ve been gone a while now. It wouldn’t surprise me to see ’em stroll in here anytime.”
“My money’s on them thinkin’ you’re already back. And they should ‘high-tail-it’ home.”
“But, fer now, let’s get a big ol’ bonfire goin’. Rest them weary bones. And warm up a little.”
“Ashley, you know what to do.”
Ashley smiled. She liked it when she knew her Wilson was happy.
“Wilson, you’re only a fraction ahead of me my friend.”
“Break out the Sarsaparilla. My men are thirsty.”
Tonto nodded.
A big hoop-n-a-holler rang out from the men.
me, & Wilson, and the General, and all his men, well … almost all his men.
