I was walkin’ along the road the other morning.
The road was walkin’ along the lake.
In between the two there is a fairly steep, four-foot embankment from the road down to the lake.
Made up of Dandelions and very small boulders – baseball-sized. Dirt and all the other “regular” mountain ground-foliage one is accustomed to.
When all of a sudden, a 5-inch-thick, 3-foot-diameter patch of this ground rose up and started right at the lake.
It didn’t take long. And in the lake it was.
Scared the bejeebers outa me.
I guess I scared them too – 24 baby ducks and Papa.

Not just a Papa, or Mama w/ 3, or 4, or 5 or 6 baby ducks, BUT, as near as I could count, near 24. Counting Papa.
24 ducks.
All moving as one big mass. All seemingly stuck together.
It did. It looked like a huge patch of the earth just got up and slid down into the water.
It was really pretty cool. After both parties got over bein’ startled.
