So, I’m just about to reach the bottom,
breaking through some gorgeous aspens.
Out into the open.
And an oh-so nice warm chinook
comes down from behind. From up on the plateau.
The lava plateau acts like a “heat-sink”.
Bakes the air.
It was a warm day already. Ya really didn’t need it warmed up anymore.
But, this was gentle. It was ‘warmth-in-a-breeze’.
So U didn’t get any particularly hotter.
It just kinda “topped off” the ZEN of the hike down.
And down at last I was – THE MEADOWS.
AND WILSON.!!!
Don’t ask me why, but,
a munchkin popped into my head.
So what else is one supposed to do.
I “followed the yellow brick road”.
From the aspens,
to the yellow truck up ahead.
It was the only thing that stood out.
Except for the apple orchards that were just beyond.
FOOD.!!!
I’m gonna live.!!!
OMG.!!!
Now I just need something to drink.
I AM ONE PARCHED DUDE.!!!
I hustled over and started to “manga” on the biggest red apple I ever saw.
(I’ve seen bigger really.
But, when ur starvin’ – “beauty is in the eyes of the beholder”.)
It was really juicy, so my thirst was partially quenched.
That’s when I heard it,
“PSSST, want something to drink with that apple?”
My shoulders slumped and so did my being.

What is with this place?
If I turn around and nobody’s there, I’m gonna scream.
