A supply wagon stopped by the Lodge today. The wagon master had a very interesting story to tell.
Seems like a hunting party came across some prospectors.
‘They’ said they passed by a camp 3 days back. Nobody was there. But, ‘they’ told the hunters there was maybe 10 or so in the camp. Near as they could tell. And whoever was there didn’t stay long. It was a “quick camp”.
This, … according to Stumpy, the wagon master.
Wilson and I looked at each other – “I wonder if that was the General?”, we thought to ourselves.
Stumpy left us some ‘dry goods’, and was on his way.
It’s been three days since the Rossi brothers set out. And no word yet.
Snow and ice are melting pretty quick. It was gray for about a week. But, now the sun’s out. And supposed to be for a while.
It’s really gorgeous out.
