I had to call upon divine Calliope
to get started w/ this post.
I needed inspiration.
She is, afterall,
the Muse of epic poetry.
(a guy can dream, can’t he?)
I mean,
here I am,
on a beautiful, white, sandy beach,
surrounded by
a tranquil deep-sigh, blue ocean.
My best buddy, Wilson, is beside me.
And our new friend, Stumpy,
beside him,
soakin’ up the warmth of the sun.
Not too condusive to sitting down and
WORKING.
RIGHT.!?
So,
I poured myself a brandy –
over ice w/
a beer chaser, (I don’t drink much, but, on occasion . . . )
put on Traffic’s,
“the Low Spark of High Heeled Boys” (Woodstock 1994),
followed by “Hey Joe”, by Otis Taylor (a retro collage of really old classic photos of a ton of old celebrities). (very “bluesy”)
( I can identify almost all of them).
And then “Down by the River”, by Neil Young.
All in effort to get the “juices flowin’ ” to write this post.
It’s kinda workin’.
So,
we’re layin’ back,
relaxin’,
far, far away from the cold, and winter of Alaska.
Far, far from the ICICLES
of the Sun “NOT” warmin’ the Earth.
So, I dedicate this post to
ICICLES !!!
from Bora Bora !!!
(now there’s a “juxtapotision” if I ever . . . )
(or,
is that an “oxymoron” . . . ?)
a waterfall by Seward’s Folly,
and just a plain existential icicle hole,
a “dryer vent”
Whatever U do,
don’t think I don’t love
the winter,
the ice and snow,
the cold.
This is my “Briar Patch”. (Thank you “Uncle Remus”)
But,
I’m “on vacay“.!!!
So,
thank you, Calliope
for the inspiration !!!
